How to Blend AI and Human Insight for Better Learning Outcomes

Join us: February 18 at 3:00pm ET

Artificial intelligence (AI) is accelerating training and performance programs at an unprecedented pace, but many learning and development (L&D) teams are discovering a new problem: content that’s fast, scalable, and technically “smart,” yet generic or misaligned for learners.

When everything is automated, context can get lost, causing learners to tune out. And the very tools meant to improve outcomes can undermine skill development, trust and real-world application.

In this Leader Talk, Allego’s Jessica Peck, senior sales content manager, and Sarah Plummer, sales engineer and solutions consultant, will tackle the growing tension between AI efficiency and human judgment in learning design. Through practical frameworks and real-world before-and-after examples, they’ll show how high-performing enablement teams are using AI intentionally without sacrificing relevance, critical thinking or impact.

Designed for learning, enablement and training professionals, this session introduces a clear decision-making approach for when to automate, when to slow down and when human insight is non-negotiable, so AI enhances outcomes instead of diluting them.

You’ll walk away able to:

  • Spot the hidden risks of over-automation and recognize when AI-generated learning is too generic or misaligned to drive behavior change.
  • Apply a practical decision framework to determine when to use AI, when to rely on human judgment and when to combine both.
  • Design learning experiences that use AI to accelerate feedback and reinforcement without removing context, coaching or accountability.
  • Confidently say “no” to the wrong automation and articulate clear tradeoffs and recommendations to stakeholders.
  • Build a step-by-step, repeatable approach to using AI intentionally in skill development programs that scale.
